USA Boxing President, Dr. Charles Butler, is dealing with a pain only those of us who have lost their mother can truly understand.
Juanita Elizabeth Butler recently passed away at the tender age of 92, Dr. Butler there at her side.
Contacting Dr. Butler to extend my condolences, he reflected on what this loss meant to him…
“My mom was raised in a small house built by her father in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She met my father while he was at the University there, him from New York City. They married in Alabama and my father was part of the military during World War II. After returning home, we moved to my dad’s original home of New York. Dad worked 2 jobs while mom stayed home and took care of us kids. We grew up in an area (East Bronx) where 80% of the kids never graduated from High School. All 4 Butler children have 4 doctoral degrees between us, a tribute to my parents. Dad passed awhile back, that very hard. My mom and dad had the best marriage any of us ever knew of. They were truly in love until death separated them. My dad’s ashes have now been buried with my mom in Tuscaloosa, where they first met. God blessed me with the best parents a man could possibly ask for”…
Our prayers are with you, Dr. Butler.
