According to the Canadian Press, the United States beat Canada 3-2 on Monday in the final game between the two women's hockey superpowers leading up to the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.

In a game that featured a very impressive crowd of over 17,000 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, the Americans took a commanding 3-0 lead in the contest before Team Canada came back and tried to make things interesting.

Kelli Stack registered a point in each of the three American goals. The native of Brooklyn Heights, Ohio notched a goal and two assists.

Since October, the United States have played Canada seven times, with the Americans winning four of the meetings.

Team Canada will still play five more games in January against midget boys teams in Calgary, Red Deer, Lethbridge and Medicine Hat. The Canadians will begin their quest for a fourth straight Olympic Winter Games gold medal on February 8 against Switzerland.
