US Reining Team named for 2010 FEI Alltech World Equestrian Games

Introducing the reigning Dream Team in equestrian reining.

Equestrian reining enthusiasts struggled to rein in their enthusiasm in Oklahoma City Saturday evening, July 10th, as top finishers grabbed their spots on the Adequan U.S. Reining Team for the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.

The U.S. reining team will compete to defend its team gold medal status, having taken the top spot in the 2006 World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Germany.

Held during the Battle in the Saddle competition in Oklahoma City’s State Fair Park, the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games selection trial (with 32 contenders) resulted in this Dream Team reining roster:

  • Shawn Flarida and RC Fancy Step
  • Tom McCutcheon and Funners Special Nite
  • Craig Schmersal and Bom Shernic
  • Tim McQuay and HollywoodTinselTown

Alternate team status went to Casey Deary and Rootin Tootin Dunit.

Jeff Petska will serve as chef d’equipe (chief of team) for the US reining team during the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. Jeff Petska also served as chef d’equipe for the US reining teams during the 2002, and 2006 World Equestrian Games.
