The US Open tennis 2013 live stream and TV schedule brings men's semifinals coverage to the forefront of the sports world on Saturday, Sept. 7, with several big name players still in action. While Andy Murray and Roger Federer have both been sent home early, there's still top-ranked stars Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal looking at a possible matchup for the championship. Saturday's US Open live stream online and TV coverage takes place on various channels and websites for sports fans to enjoy.
On Sept. 5, SportingNews.com reported that Novak Djokovic has now reached his staggering 14th straight Grand Slam semifinal. He made it to the US Open semifinals by defeating No. 21 Mikhail Youzhny 6-3, 6-2, 3-6, 6-0 at Arthur Ashe Stadium. The win puts Djokovic up against No. 9 seed Stanislas Wawrinka who managed to pull off a stunning upset over Andy Murray in the quarterfinals. Wawrinka defeated the defending US Open champ 6-4, 6-3, 6-2.
Wawrinka summed up the recent history of the Grand Slam events saying, "In tennis, as you know, if (you) are not Roger or Rafa and Djokovic or Andy now, you don't win so many tournaments, and you always lose." However, Andy and Roger are now both gone from the mix, as Federer was upset by Spain's Tommy Robredo in Round 4. Could Wawrinka be a part of a new mix of stars beginning to break out at the US Open?
On the other side of the men's draw, No. 2 seed Rafael Nadal will take on No. 8 seed Richard Gasquet of France in the second semifinals match. Gasquet managed to upset Spaniard David Ferrer who was the No. 4 seed by a final of 6-3, 6-1, 4-6, 2-6, 6-3 in the quarterfinals. Nadal took down Tommy Robredo in the quarters easily, 6-0 6-2, 6-2 to advance. The winner of the two semifinals for the men's side will meet up in the championship match at Flushing Meadow on Monday.
