The US Open tennis 2013 live stream and television schedule brings the rest of the men's quarterfinals to TV and the internet for the Thursday, Sept. 5 matches. Among the players in action early will be Andy Murray vs. Stanislas Wawrinka, with a spot in the semifinals on the line. Also competing will be Novak Djokovic and Mikhail Youzhny. The US Open live streaming and TV coverage will be available courtesy of multiple sources including ESPN and the US Open website.
Website The Guardian reported on Sept. 4 that Murray dispatched of Denis Istomen by a score of 6-7 (5), 6-1, 6-4, 6-4, in a match which lasted three hours and seven minutes. The victory put Murray, the reigning US Open champion, into the quarterfinals for his third straight year. Next up, he'll meat Stanislas Wawrinka, who defeated Murray at the Open just three years ago. Wawrinka defeated fifth seed Tomas Berdych in action on Tuesday evening, 3-6, 6-1, 7-6 (6), 6-2 at Louis Armstrong Stadium.
After his victory, Murray asked about his next opponent, and offered up praise for him as well, saying:
"Did Wawrinka win? It's hard some times to keep an eye on the other game on the scoreboard. It will be a very tough match. He's played great tennis all year. He has been eight and nine all year and probably going to go higher."
Also competing for a spot in the semifinals will be Novak Djokovic and Mikhail Youzhny on Thursday night. Djokovic advanced to the quarterfinals with a win over Marcel Granollers of Spain 6-3, 6-0, 6-0, while Youzhny defeated Australia's Lleyton Hewitt 6-3, 6-3, 6-7 (7), 6-4, 7-5.
Djokovic, currently the No.1 ranked men's tennis player, has only won the US Open once before, when he defeated Rafael Nadal back in 2011. However, he has been to at least the semifinals in his past six appearances at the tournament, making the Serbian star seem like the favorite to do so once again when he plays Youzhny.
