On Monday, the US Open tennis 2013 live stream and television schedule continues, with the fourth round of coverage from Flushing Meadow, New York. Among those who may be seen in live competition are Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and David Ferrer for the men, with No. 2 ranked Victoria Azarekna and Ana Ivanovic among the womens' players in action. The TV and live streaming US Open coverage will continue from the ESPN networks for fans to enjoy throughout the day.
A Sept. 1 report from Fox Sports notes that men's player Rafael Nadal is getting closer to a quarterfinals matchup against top-ranked foe, Roger Federer. The 12-time Grand Slam champion defeated Croatian player Ivan Dodig on Saturday by a final score of 6-4, 6-3, 6-3. He'll play Germany's Philipp Kohlschreiber on Monday night in their Men's Round of 16 matchup. The match is highlighted as one of those on ESPN 2, with WatchESPN live stream coverage available from various cable or satellite TV providers around the United States.
The win over Dodig gave Nadal a win streak of 18 straight matches now, a career-best for the Spaniard tennis star. Nadal told the media after the latest victory:
"I started the match with the right intensity. I think I played my best match of the week so far."
"I have to improve a little bit of everything to keep going in the second week. To win matches if you are not playing your best, it's impossible."
Meanwhile, Roger Federer has advanced to the round of 16, and is in search of a 17th Grand Slam Title as well as his sixth US Open championship. Federer defeated Adrian Mannarino of France in a Monday night match. Mannarino has never defeated an opponent ranked in the top 10. Next up for Federer is Spaniard Tommy Robredo, with their match schedule for 11 a.m. EST or thereafter.
Also on the schedule for Monday's action will be a showdown between womens' stars Victoria Azarenka and Ana Ivanovic. Azareka defeated the 26th seed, Alize Cornet of France, while Ivanovic eliminated Christina McHale of America from the US Open tournament.
