The US Open tennis 2013 live stream and TV matches will bring several big name stars to the court on Day 9 from Flushing Meadow, New York. Among them will be defending men's champion Andy Murray, and defending women's champion, Serena Williams, both of whom are still playing in this year's Open. The televised and live streaming tennis coverage will be available for viewers with several different options during the day.
An SBNation.com report from Sept. 3 indicates that both ESPN and the Tennis Channel will be broadcasting coverage of various matches throughout the day on Tuesday. Among those in action will be Victoria Azarenka against Ana Ivanovic in a match scheduled for 11 a.m. on ESPN 2. Also, Novak Djokovic takes on Marcel Granollers at Arthur Ashe Stadium at approximately 2:30 p.m. EST, weather permitting.
ESPN broadcasts primetime tennis between 7 and 11 p.m. EST, and two of the biggest names remaining in the tournament will be playing during that time slot. Defending US Open men's champ Andy Murray is in round four against Denis Istomin, after defeating Florian Mayer in the third round.
According to BBC Sport, Murray has praised his opponent heading into the match. Although Murray is heavily favored, he clearly isn't underestimating Istomin, as he told the media:
"Technically he's very sound. He's a good player. He hits the ball very flat. He had a very good match with Novak [Djokovic] in Montreal. He's had some good wins this week, as well."
Serena Williams is also continuing on, after winning what many have labeled a "grudge match" against fellow American Sloane Stephens 6-4, 6-1. Serena will step on the court against Carla Suarez Navarro next. An ESPN.com report captured the essence of how Serena approached her match with Stephens, and every match she plays. Serena said:
"You know, when I'm playing, I don't go out there thinking like that. I'm literally going out there to play. I'm not thinking about being a star. I just want to play tennis and I want to do really good at it.
"It's not about the stage for me; it's just about getting that ball in."
Starting at 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, the men's and women's defending champs are scheduled to both have matches. Serena Williams will face Carla Suarez Navarro of Spain in a women's quarterfinals matchup. ESPN will televise this match with live streaming coverage available for WatchESPN customers. A live stream can also be seen over at the USOpen.org website. Andy Murray is also taking the court at 7 p.m. EST to face Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan. Their match is not shown on the ESPN schedule, but USOpen.org will likely be live streaming the video feed from Flushing Meadow at their website.
