Edward Snowden, the US intelligence leaker, is back in the news. This time he’s seen casually dressed, sunglasses and a goatee pushing a shopping cart across a road in what is perceived to be Moscow.
A car with partly legible Russian plates and a crossing sign identify the scene as indeed Russia.
It’s the first known appearance of Snowden since Vladimir Putin took pity on him and allowed him to take an apartment in Moscow and leave the transit area of the Moscow airport.
Nothing has been heard or seen of Snowden by the international media since he showed up last August at Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport requesting “temporary asylum.”
It appears Snowden's short stay most likely will be be much longer including the long Russian winter. The 30-year-old former CIA security analyst is wanted by the United States for divulging massive details about US security to the media.
According to Snowden’s attorney Anatoly Kucherena, he is living in an ultra-secret location.
Life News, the news service, responsible for taking the photograph, said Snowden only goes out in public generally in disguise. It was pointed out that Snowden clearly is not out of money as previously thought since it’s estimated he had over one thousand rubles of groceries in the cart.
With winter approaching fast, he had better have enough rubles left for a warm coat.
