The United States Attorney rejected a plea deal for Teresa and Joe Giudice of Real Housewives of New Jersey last week. The prosecutor stated that any plea deal they might make must include jail time for both Joe and Teresa Giudice.
A source close to the situation stated that “Teresa and Joe’s defense team submitted a plea deal on Wednesday but the US Attorney denied it. Teresa wanted a plea deal that keeps her out of jail so she offered to do anything else but jail time and have Joe serve all of the time in jail. The prosecutor dismissed the deal outright.”
The Real Housewives of New Jersey stars were indicted on 39 counts of fraud and tax evasion. Joe and Teresa Giudice are both facing a possible 50 years behind bars if they are convicted. The source stated that Teresa Giudice is trying to find any way she can to stay out of prison.
The source added, “The prosecutor has said that if she wants to plead it out she has to do jail time. They believe that the evidence will show that Teresa can’t play dumb. She was in cahoots with Joe and was just as much a part of orchestrating the scan as he was.”
The Giudice’s have four daughters, Gia, Milania, Gabriella and Audriana who could potentially end up being raised by family in the event Teresa and Joe both go to prison. Which if the prosecutor has anything to say about it is exactly what is going to happen.
“They [prosecutors] are pushing for time for both of them. They’re going to paint a completely different picture of Teresa and believe that they can show that she was just as involved as Joe in creating the fraud.”
The prosecutors are said to be pushing for a trial start date of October 2013. They want the trial to begin with “no delays and no bullsh*t” according to the source.
Do you suppose fans of the Real Housewives of New Jersey’s most controversial housewife will finally see Teresa for the underhanded and manipulative person she is?
