The American Poolplayers Association (APA) registration window is open for the 21st annual U.S. Amateur Championship tournament. Once again this event is known as the nation’s most prestigious amateur event and the gateway to upper echelon levels of competition. Tournament entries are open for any amateur player to enter; however, this tournament is not one for the faint at heart. Many amateur players that choose to play in the US Amateur do it mainly because of their passion for the game, competition is fierce and any matches won will be well deserved.
You do not need to be an APA member to enter, the U.S. Amateur Preliminary Rounds which will be held regionally from September 26-28th, 2014, you can select your first and second choice location of play. Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Jersey host the preliminary rounds for the New England area men’s and women’s divisions are held in different host locations.
Winners of each division from the preliminary rounds will advance to the Championship rounds November 5-9th at Strokers in Palm Harbor, Florida. The winner of each division receives trophies and paid travel, lodging and entry into a 2015 pro event. Winners from the prior year are invited back to defend their titles. Competitors are constantly challenged as they play each match in this event.
