Urgent, out of time - 'Chubby' needs to exit the shelter

Via Facebook

Update 5/22/14: Chubby is safe and out of the building - Those who offered to help with expenses can either call Pet Chalet (where he is going temporarily) at (951) 272-3640 to make a payment directly to his care (ask for Krystal), use the pay pal link on our website (, go directly to pay pal and use the email address, or mail to Love 4 Canines PO Box 722 Atwood, CA 92811.

Chubby, an adult Chow mix, is currently kenneled at the Ramona Humane Society in San Jacinto, Calif., where he has been since he was surrendered on May 8.

Chubby is described as "very quiet," and he is a staff favorite - unfortunately, despite his kind and sweet demeanor, Chubby has had no interest from adopters or rescue agencies. The following information has been written about this lovely boy:

Dear, gentle Chubby has become a staff favorite! And, he has been a very good roommate to all of the dogs he has been with here in the shelter. He just minds his own business…he’s even good w/puppies & small dogs. His 1st roommate here attacked him and Chubby didn't even fight back. He was turned in by his owner, but they gave us no info on him.

He is 5 yrs. old & he weighs 67.9 lbs. We hope somebody will give Chubby a 2nd chance.

According to the adoption coordinator, as of Monday morning, there were no offers to adopt or rescue Chubby. Please take a moment to network this handsome boy's information...according to those who are networking for him on Facebook, his time has run out.
