HB12-1286, the film incentives bill, needs help getting past the Joint Budget Committee. One member in particular, Rep. Claire Levy of Boulder (District 13) is presenting a challenge. Michael Haskins, a local attorney who has been instrumental in pushing this bill through, has this to say:
"Rep. Levy needs to understand how much HB12-1286 means for Colorado. Please contact her office today and let her know that you care about this bill and Colorado's economy. Rep. Levy... could kill funding for the bill. This is something that needs immediate attention.... Her vote can kill the whole bill. Let's show her that Colorado wants this to happen now!... Please alert all of your friends, family, contacts... everyone!"
Haskins asks that concerned citizens please make a personal appeal to Rep. Levy and others on the Joint Budget Committee (find out who they are here) outlining how film incentives will affect you personally and how you believe they will be good for our state. Legislators need to understand that those who work in the film industry are real people, voters, and community members who wish to contribute to the state and local economies. It is important for them to understand that you are a regular person, not a lobbyist.

This information can be useful in composing a letter or coming up with convincing talking points.
