Contact: Chief Randy Williams: Oklahoma City Fire Investigators Seek Assistance
Oklahoma City Fire Department Fire Investigation Unit is seeking information in connection with numerous fires set in the area of NW. 39th and Pennsylvania. These fires range from structures to grass fires. The latest fires were set in trash cans which extended into 2 homes, causing extensive damage to both homes. Both homes were occupied leading to 1 injury at the time of the fires.
Fire Investigators have information leading us to believe the suspect is a transient and has been seen in the area. If anyone has any information please call (405) 297-3321 or 23-ARSON. Callers may remain anonymous.
North Penn as it is known locally, has had struggles with increasing vacancies in businesses and apartments in this general area, with the anchor tenants Homeland Grocers and Coits Drive-In leaving the area in the last few months.
The public is asked to contribute data, as the sooner the person can be contained, the less risk of life and property.
This time of year, there is an increased risk for cloud to ground strikes and grassfires in general due to the low moisture and end of season dying foliage anyway. The arsonist presents an additional risk.
The Oklahoma City Fire Department is listed both on FB and on Twitter.
