Urban singer adds her own No. 9 dreams to John Lennon-influenced album

KJ Denhart is a fan of both numerology and the Beatles. A good example of that is the title of her current album: "Album No. 9."

"Album No.9' is about freedom,” she says. "My life path number is 9."

The album was recorded beginning Sept. 9, 2009 (9/9/09) over the course of nine months. It has nine musicians and nine songs. "No. 9" was also a familiar theme in John Lennon's life. His birthday and his son Sean's were on the 9th day of the mon. And one of his most well-known songs was "#9 Dream."

Denhert's "Album No. 9" has spawned a cover version of the Beatles' song "Help!" that can be seen in a video on YouTube. (See video at left.) Her version is described as a plea to the world "in light of so many tragedies that were complicated due to mans inhumanity and greed, most recently in Haiti, Louisiana, Japan." Denhert's vocal adds an interesting soul and R&B dimension to John Lennon's plaintive song.

Other songs on "Album No. 9" include "Alfie," "Pennies From Heaven, "The Shadow of Your Smile, " "Chanson Baz Bar," and "Smoke on the Water. "

Also on the album is "Choose Your Weapon," which won a Sing Out For Social Action award for recordings released in 2010.
