Urban Hipster Fashion Takes Center Stage at SXSW (Photos)

You may remember reading about the urban hipster look in one of my earlier examiner columns (http://www.examiner.com/article/chattanooga-is-new-magnet-city-for-hipsters) last year citing Chattanooga as the new magnet city for urban hipsters. The trend is still going strong as the look dominated the fashion scene at SXSW which ended this past Sunday. To sum up, hipsters are often seen wearing vintage and thrift store inspired fashions, tight-fitting jeans, old school sneakers to create an "effortless cool" urban bohemian look. Even Nicki Bluhm, the songwriter and singer of "Nicki Bluhm and the Gramblers" took to the stage in urban hipster looks for her two performances at SXSW. For her March 12 performance she wore Rae Francis' (www.raefrancis.com) Rambert Boho Robe over the black Rae Francis George Dress and for her March 14 performance she wore the Rae Francis Wyatt Dress both inspired by music, the 1960's, and Bohemian freedom.

Check out the slideshow for Nicky Bluhm's looks and other boho hipster looks at SXSW.
