Urban Arts & Crafts has been in the Kansas City area for approximately 5 years. First in the River City Market, they moved several years ago to Briarcliff Village to accommodate their ever-increasing supply of goodies. Just walking in the store provides immediate inspiration – from the wall of yarn and bowls of soft yarns begging to be fondled, designer fabrics, handmade paper, to the beautiful strings of beads hanging up to catch the sunlight.
Urban Arts & Crafts carries supplies for the mixed-media and collage artist as well: original ephemera, inks, glitter, acrylic paints, embossing powders, flocking, art journals, and papers that cannot be found anywhere else in the Kansas City area.
At UA&C they also offer an array of fun classes, from beginner’s knitting to screen printing, fabric wallets and soldering – plus many others. They also offer private parties/classes – bring your girlfriends and have a craft party – and leave the mess there! Also, for those without the time to commit to a class, they carry kits for many projects including crazy quilting, lots of UA&C original knitting and crocheting kits and patterns and designer fabric patterns and kits.
If you’re on the hunt for something unusual, Urban Arts & Crafts always has exciting and unique ideas for a new craft or a twist on an old favorite. Visit their website for more inspiration and ideas.
