Uranus enters the 0 degree point of Aries on May 28, 2010 for the first two and a half months of a seven year stay in that sign that will change our lives and change the world. It marks a continuation of transits that will bring about upheaval, change and transformation, and the beginning of a new world. This is the time period astrologers have been looking at for decades, and these transits will lead us into 2012, the time the Mayan calendar ends. Uranus entering Aries creates a major shift in planetary energies as the planet of thunder, lightening, electricity, freedom and sudden, unexpected events moves to the 0 point of Aries, a cardinal sign, at a critical degree that relates to the world at large. When a planet is in a cardinal sign like Aries, it means the energy works quickly, events happen fast, often in a very public way. The 0 degree of Aries is referred to as a critical degree. The critical degrees of Aries are 0, 13 and 26. The ancients placed a great deal of importance upon the critical degrees. Uranus will conjunct the Aries point –May 28, 2010-August 4, 2010-March 12, 2011-March 29, 2011, and –November 10, 2011-January 8, 2012. . Uranus will retrograde back into Pisces from mid-September until March of 2011, at which time it will remain in Aries until March 4, 2019.
Increase and Abundance
On June 6 Jupiter, the planet of abundance and increase joins Uranus in Aries at 0 degrees. It will remain at 0-1 degrees until June 24. It will be within orb of Uranus, therefore creating an effect until August 13, 2010. The definition of Jupiter and Uranus together is usually money and unexpected wealth, hope and fortune. We may get a little planetary help after a long, difficult period. This is a chance for a much welcome increase in finances and opportunities for some people. Astrologer/Author Mitch Lewis writes,” As Jupiter and Uranus begin their journey into Aries and conjunct on June 8thwe will begin to see some new innovative thinking and research that will lead to more technological advancements. There will be some very positive results of this configuration, and it may help us push past the roadblock we have reached in our cultural development. The suddenness of Uranus coupled with the expansive nature of Jupiter could lead to great leaps of understanding, especially if placed just right in the chart of a scientist, artist, politician or philosopher. Uranus rules all technological advances. The last time this planet entered Aries was in 1926. That was the year movies began to talk, and Farnsworth patented his new invention he called Television. Now we are seeing a new wave of technological devices, including 3D TV (which, I believe will be a gigantic failure). But the underlying theme here is that this is a time for new inventions, innovations and freedom in thought. We have seen some tremendous innovations over the past few decades, and it may seem as though we are at the end of an era of technological advancement. In fact, we are at the beginning of the greatest technological revolution since the invention of the internal combustion engine in the 19th century.” There will be money-making opportunities for some, and the world will see some gain in terms of the world economy, but this transit is not going to completely turn around all of the economic failures of the past few years. But, it could begin the New Age of Enlightenment, in more ways than one.
The Downside
Jupiter and Uranus can create exuberance and excitement. Jupiter rules religion, spirituality, wealth, the law and education. There will be people and factions who will make their viewpoints known, and with the exuberance of Jupiter we are at risk of falling under the influence of those who may be somewhat self-righteous or too many people can get caught up in fanatical viewpoints pushed by the ‘talking heads,’ and others on TV. Jupiter expands whatever it touches. We saw this over the past 45 days with the unexpected flooding in Nashville, TN and the Gulf Oil spill, now the largest of its type in history. Jupiter has been in Pisces conjunct Uranus in Pisces within 1-4 degrees throughout May. Pisces rules oil and water, and we have seen many issues relating to water this spring, but particularly the oil spill which has worldwide ramifications.
Aries is ruled by Mars and Mars relates to our action, military action, force, violence, weapons, and fire. So, it is highly possible this combination may produce sudden, unexpected incidents involving explosive situations.
Uranus/Jupiter squares Pluto
As soon as Uranus enters Aries it creates a square to Pluto, the planet of transformation. While Uranus is the planet that jolts us awake, creates unexpected twists and turns and freedom at any cost, Pluto is the planet of ultimate transformation. Pluto rules oil, large corporations, and elements/factions of society that are used to control; oil companies, banks, insurance companies, those entities that control the world and the majority of wealth in the world. The’ God of the Underworld,’ (Pluto) is in Capricorn the ruler of business and finance and the earth itself. So, we may expect to see clashes and, unexpected incidents, even explosions relating to the earth such as volcanoes and other natural or manmade events, or unexpected clashes among those who wish to gain or keep control of situations in the world. It is a clash between freedom and control. Uranus is the planet of ultimate freedom and Aries is the I AM.
Freedom How?
Freedom to live in a world where the oceans are not polluted by oil, the banks and oil companies do not control our standard of living, terrorists do not dictate fear among populations, corporations are not allowed to make billion dollar profits while paying slave wages, wall street companies are not allowed to swallow the pensions or savings of the working class person for the gain of a handful of individuals who don’t care, and a society all people have access to medical care. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, the individual, the self, and the individual will make his or her voice heard. Freedom to create, invent and be the most you can be. But, no one said this would be free. This is only the beginning-the start. This transit will re-occur within a few degrees orb for many years to come.
Jupiter/Pluto
Jupiter rules wealth, expansion, governments, the law and religion. It creates a 90 degree angle, a square, considered to represent a struggles, to the planet of transformation and control. Pluto is in Capricorn, the sign ruling banking and business interests and the earth. The potential exists for governments to try and curb the control of certain entities such as banks, wall street firms, or others through financial reform or other forms of government control. Any type of square to Jupiter has the potential to alter the financial markets. We will see fanatical viewpoints, hypocrisy, power struggles and power plays in religious or educational institutions, radical changes in belief systems. We will see those who desire to reform others while neglecting to take into consideration their own problems, and we will see conflict over integrity, financial institutions, corporate funds, insurance and dishonesty and entities or individuals employing dishonorable means to achieve power or status. Jupiter squares Pluto July 8-August 7, 2010.
The Mother of All Transits-The T-Square of Summer 2010
Saturn is the taskmaster, the planet of restriction, delays, sorrows and the past. It is also the planet that gives us structure and without structure we cannot exist. For the past several years Saturn has opposed Uranus on four different occasions in Virgo and Pisces bringing about change and disruption in the world. This transit last occurred in the mid-sixties with Saturn in Pisces and Uranus in Virgo, the opposite of the past two years. The most significant opposition occurred on election day in the US, with the election of President Barrack Obama, certainly an event of global importance. The opposition occurred throughout May bringing us a major oil spill in the gulf of monumental proportions, the extent of which is still unknown at this time. Saturn represents structure and Uranus represents the future and the two do not mix without a clash. In mythology they are mortal enemies. Virgo rules elements connected with the earth and we have seen major earth catastrophes not only in the Gulf, but Haiti and Iceland to name a few. A major ash cloud grounded air traffic in Europe for weeks. The PIGS union, ( named in financial circles) Spain, Ireland, Portugal and Greece are on the verge of collapse, riots have occurred throughout Greece and government there has implemented austerity measures. The world has seen more chaos in the past 24 months than in decades. Thus, the combination of the two mortal enemies, Saturn and Uranus.
On July 22, 2010 Saturn enters Libra at 0 degrees for its final two year stay in that sign. Libra is the natural ruler of the seventh house of relationships, partnerships, law and government, as well as ‘open enemies,’-that is enemies we know to be against us. When Saturn enters Libra at 0 degrees it opposes Uranus, the planet of sudden, unexpected events which is in Aires at the 0 degree point. Thus, we have two cardinal signs at critical degrees in complete opposition. Pluto, the” God of Hell,” will be at 3 degrees of Capricorn, creating a T-Square or a Grand Cross between the three planets Uranus, Saturn and Pluto, with all three planets playing a role in the configuration. One definition of Saturn, Pluto and Uranus is weapons. Pluto rules plutonium, used in making nuclear weapons. The world is at risk of sudden, unexpected events, explosive in nature involving ‘open enemies.’ A million articles have been written about this time with theories ranging from financial collapse, Armageddon, the end times to pole shifts, or a ‘new world order.’ One thing that is absolute is that our tomorrow will be vastly different from today.
It is likely we will see an increase in violence in unexpected areas. Capricorn rules business, finance, and the earth itself. There will be a struggle between those who have, or who wish to take control and the individual. We are absolutely at risk of natural and manmade disasters. We do not know the extent of the BP oil spill, but we can rest assured that based upon BP’s previous actions they wish to ‘control’ the flow of information and keep as much of the truth from the world as possible. Thus far, BP lawyers have been present at every turn trying to force individuals involved in the accident or the clean up to sign documents of non-disclosure. They have been stopped, but this is merely one incident of entities who wish to ‘control’ situations that affect our planet.
Ultimately, as Saturn progresses into Libra ‘the law,’ or laws of the land will begin to hold those accountable for past actions that have harmed the earth or man himself, such as wall street entities who have caused millions of people to lose their life savings. There will be struggles, the like of which we have seen and unexpected twists and turns, but ultimately, Saturn is unyielding in its action.
The period of July 22-August 12 is the most critical period of all. It is during this time the events of Saturn, Uranus and Pluto will play out in the world. Our greatest planetary hope for the future is the Uranus-Jupiter conjunction. Uranus and Jupiter confer hope, optimism and courage.
Other dates of importance
The Eclipse of June 26, 2010 at 4 degrees of Capricorn is of significance to the world. It is exactly conjunct Pluto, the planet of transformation and change, and is the natural ruler of the tenth house representing priorities/business.
-Pluto/the eclipse- squares Uranus in Aries at the 0 degree point.
-The Sun is at 4 degrees of Cancer, and Mercury is at two degrees of Cancer creating a grand square between the planets involved.
This eclipse creates a point of crisis that involves the world itself, and likely to revolve around disasters and accidents, either man made or natural earth related. Uranus is the planet of sudden, explosive events. Obstructions/obstacles in communications, transportation, health and employment.
Iceland
A friend called the other day and asked about the date of June 26, and Iceland. A look at the chart of Iceland shows the country is at major risk of disruption that could include another eruption of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano which has already caused massive disaster. A look at the chart of that country shows Saturn squaring Saturn, Uranus is opposing Neptune, and Pluto is exactly on the descendant of this country. On June 26, the lunar eclipse occurs at 4 degrees of Capricorn falling directly on Pluto and descendant of the country. Pluto rules the earth, and this is a time Iceland is at great risk of another earth related disaster, as is the rest of the world. Additionally Mars is opposing Uranus indicating sudden, unexpected, explosive disasters and events. I would urge extreme caution for those in this part of the world.
US Chart
In the US, the eclipse falls on Pluto which is at 4 degrees conjunct Venus and Jupiter, representing the financial planets of the country, and the potential for financial swings in the markets. These planets are located in the seventh house which relates to partners, home and abroad, and law as well. Mercury opposes Venus/Jupiter and is being squared by Uranus bringing news of sudden unexpected situations and/or accidents. Mars conjuncts Uranus, creating a sudden volatile energy indicative of explosions and explosive situations.
July 11
A solar eclipse occurs at 19 degrees of Cancer. Astrologer-Author Celeste Teal calls the eclipse, ‘Victory Over Obstacles’-“Cancer eclipse spotlights interests relating to domestic issues, homes land and crops. Eclipse falls in degree of fixed star Castor-of a wicked influence, associated with decapitation, fevers, rape and murder. For the USA, eclipse brings interest in foreign affairs, long distance travel, and higher education, publishing and religion. There is practical problem solving. Financial stress present with delay of new opportunity for expansion and growth. Banks and markets subject to fluctuation. Unusual trends in the pursuit of pleasure, romance, and entertainment, restrictions apply. New educational programs are costly. The eclipse is of emphasis for Iraq, the White House, the UK, Vatican City, LA, Manhattan, NYC and Roswell, NM.
July 30-August 6
Full moon in Aquarius conjunct the moon in America’s chart creating an emotional atmosphere on July 26. Mars, the “God of War,” conjuncts Uranus July 30-August 1 creating the possibility of explosive incidents, changes in law and friction in general. On August 4-5 Mars squares Pluto increasing the possibility of explosions, military incidents, and violence. On August 6-7 it squares America’s Jupiter creating swings in the financial markets and incidents overseas.
