Uptown Green Mill happy hours attract the masses

Uptown Green Mill, located at 2626 Hennepin Avenue South in Minneapolis, is one of the best sports bars in the Twin Cities not only because of its plethora of big screens lining the bar but also because it boasts one of the best happy hours in town.

It redefines the term "happy hour" by offering it practically all of the time. Unlike most bars that have the traditional Monday-Friday deals, Green Mill extends its specials seven days a week.

Hours are Monday-Friday from 4-7pm, 10pm-1am everyday of the week and 11am-6pm Saturday and Sunday. In total that's a whopping 50 hours per week of happy hours! The result has been a cost saving bonanza in which penny pinchers are bellowing with approval and thisting for more.

To quench the thirst Green Mill offers $2.50 classic drafts, house wines and rail drinks during happy hours that go from 4-7 and 10-1. For beer drinkers that list does include Killians Red, Grain Belt, and Pabst Blue Ribbon. Apart from the nine happy hour beers it also has 23 other drafts to pick from.

But headlining the happy hour is its food, most notably its wings that come in 10 different styles, including sesame teriyaki and diablo. The prices vary a little bit during the different times, but nothing on any of its happy hour menus is more than $5. During the busiest happy hour, which goes from 10-1, wings are $3 and slices of pizza are $2.

Here's a more complete breakdown of its happy hours.

Keep in mind that happy hour is only in the bar area. There is ample seating but it can get quite busy, especially from 10-1 so get in early if possible.

Green Mill has 28 other locations across Minnesota that have comparable happy hours.
