Upstate teenager dies after using synthetic marijuana

A basketball player at Anderson University in Anderson, SC is dead and the coronor reports that sythetic marijuana is the cause. According to a recent report from WYFF, News Channel 4, Lamar Jack age 19 was taken to the hospital after he collasped at basketball practice on October 4. Several days later, the teenage athelete died. Toxicity reports identified synthetic marijuana, known as the chemical name, JWH-018.

The unfortunate incident happened in the midst of Anderson County Council taking steps to ban both bath salts and synthetic marijuana. Other counties and cities throughout South Carolina have either outlawed bath salts and/or synthetic marijuana, also called "fake weed" or are taking steps towards banning the use or sale of the substances which are making headlines across the nation.
