Dr. Drew Pinsky of VH-1's "Sex Rehab with Dr. Drew," a television show following patients dealing with various sexual addictions, has told ET-online that he believes Tiger Woods may have sexual addiction as a part of his problem.  He said that he doesn't have enough information to call him a sex addict; and that it may not be sex addiction per se, but that addiction can make you do unsavory things. Of note, Dr. Drew pointed out that childhood trauma is usually associated with sexual addictions and he hasn't seen this with Tiger Woods.

Gambling with their relationships, sex addicts will often continue in their reckless behavior despite knowing the negative impact it could have on their lives.  Some behaviors associated with sexual addiction include multiple affairs and extra-marital affairs; multiple and/or anonymous sexual partners and/or one-night stands; and obsessive dating through personal ads among others.

According to Medicine Net:

Sex addicts engage in distorted thinking, often rationalizing and justifying their behavior and blaming others for problems.

They generally deny they have a problem and make excuses for their actions.

Sexual addiction also is associated with risk-taking.

A person with a sex addiction engages in various forms of sexual activity, despite the potential for negative and/or dangerous consequences.

In addition to damaging the addict's relationships and interfering with his or her work and social life, a sexual addiction also puts the person at risk for emotional and physical injury.

ADDED:  12/17/2009 03:38:  Charles Barkley, Spike Lee and an all-star HLN panel discuss Tiger Woods and how he can move past the scandal.

On a side note, we heard Robin Meade tell Anderson Cooper that the guys on this panel are Real Housewives fans (Who gon check that fact, boo?!)

-Forgive yourself Tiger - you are human, we all are, reach out for help - people love you!.

Tiger Woods is not a sex addict. He is a normal man.
Men cannot live in this world and have just one woman. This is insanity. Soloman, the wisest of all men had one thousand wives.
A man can have as many women as he can afford and enjoy.
In times long past, men believed in one God and many women. Men reframed from putting women on the same level as God. Only the uninformed believe in one woman and many Gods.
Women are attracted to men that other women desired. If a man loses his appeal to other women, he will soon lose his mate.
Tiger Woods sexual appetite should not be the subject here. The subject here is the violent acts against him for being with more than one woman in his life.
These women who have lied and decieve Tiger Woods is at fault here. It is not Tiger Woods that need to be taught a lesson in morality. It's these women who have betrayed his trust and loyality for media air time.

ivory, it sounds like your medication is not working - don't be ashamed to ask your doctor for more help

Wow, Ivory, I look forward to seeing you on the next addition of Dr. Drew's Sexual Rehab. You need help and like most addicts you make excuses for your own perverted behavior. I do hope you get some help because you are missing what it's like to be in a healthy beautiful relationship. I am sure if you read this you will respond with some immature remark. That is expected, because you will feel threatened. However. I agree with Dave. Thanks, Dave, for your response.

Ivory, hun, where to start? I agree with Dave & Beverly. I do agree with you on one point, here. It's not Tiger's "sexual appetite" which should be the concern. My point is that whenever anyone wants to do whatever they want without concern or regard for anyone else (particularly his/her family) people want to name it an "addiction," which means it's "not his/her fault." Therefore, just let me have my way and leave me alone.
