UPDATED 05/18/2010 - After 10 Grammys and hundreds of hit singles, seventies songwriters Carole King and James Taylor are embarking on a tour together for the first time in 40 years that they are calling their Troubadour Reunion Tour. Both artists say that they got their starts at the famous Los Angeles club. They played a series of gigs at the Troubadour when they were having their 50th anniversary and Taylor says they had such a great time with it that they got serious and are doing a tour.
Apparently, the tour keeps growing. It starts in Australia in March, then back to the USA to Portland with homies drummer Russ Kunkel, bassist Lee Sklar and guitarist Danny Kortchmar from the original band. You can check for tour updates at CaroleKing.Com and JamesTaylor.Com.
Kings says that she and JT share a commonness of life views, values, music, and she thinks the tour will be "joy."
