Update: Woman struck by multiple vehicles in hit-and-run in Marietta has died

A woman who was run over by several vehicles died on Sunday, a day after the hit-and-run on a Marietta road. And police have identified her as Ms. Rochelle Brown, 53, of Marietta.

Now they are still trying to identify the two to three drivers who struck her and the left the scene.

“We are continuing to ask for any information concerning the other vehicles involved and anyone who may have struck any object on North Marietta Parkway at the time to contact investigators,” Marietta police spokesman Officer Michael Gardner said.

The incident happened at 6:53 a.m. Saturday on North Marietta Parkway near Allgood Road, police said.

Investigators said the woman was in the roadway when she was struck by a truck, which stopped and the driver remained at the scene.

“The pedestrian was then struck again by possibly two or three other vehicles, which did not remain on scene,” Officer Gardner said.

He did not say what Ms. Brown was doing in the roadway. She was transported to Kennestone Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries early Sunday morning.
