Word from Collin County Animal Services is that last week’s auction was a success.
“Every single one sold!! Most sold for the minimum $250, but two or three went between $1,400 and $1,600. We were assured that the majority went to folks that are well known in the QH community and that all of those got really great homes! Several of the studs will be gelded within the next few days and will be rehabilitated to become trail horses. One of the mares is on her way to Michigan to live at a great place with a wonderful, heated barn. Oh, the boy with the really bad feet... A farrier trimmed a little off oh him and he was a different horse!! He was up, walking around and behaving like a typical boy!!! The Vet said he will completely recover (after extensive work)!!! His new name is Bodie Miller!! But that will be the only reminder of his former life!! I was a great night for us and a huge win for the horses!!”
Doesn’t get much better than that.
