Update: Senior dog in Florida scheduled to die Jan. 8 (Photos)

Tuesday, Jan. 8, was scheduled to be the dreaded "D-Day" for an eight-year-old boxer mix named Hank.

Instead, Hank, who had been at the Alachua County Animal Services facility in Gainesville, Fla. since Oct. 30, was rescued.

Thanks to thousands of passionate individuals who set out to network on Hank's behalf, Second Chance Boxer Rescue, Inc., not only heard about Hank, but they took action and saw to it that he was safely released from the shelter.

Today, Hank is safely with his new foster parent and enjoying life outside of a kennel run.

Many thanks to all who took the time to help this sweet senior.
