Every year around this time the internet bursts with speculation regarding the contract status of WCW and TNA icon Sting, with many clamoring for him to make the jump to WWE for a big-money WrestleMania match. This year is no different as Sting's contract with TNA Wrestling is set to expire on January 1, 2014.
Will Sting make the long-awaited jump and possibly have a showdown with The Undertaker at WrestleMania 30? According to The Wrestling Observer, this is less and less likely by the day. TNA fully expects Sting to resign, keeping him in their booking plans going forward. He is currently slated to take on Ethan Carter III on January 16, 2014 in Huntsville, Alabama.
After seeing AJ Styles and Hulk Hogan walk from the company, it would be rough for TNA to have Sting leave at this juncture. With that said, a WrestleMania match for Sting would likely earn him more money on one night than in a year with TNA. Would it be about the money for Sting who, by all accounts, is living comfortably? Or will it be about continuing the job of building TNA up and remaining the most high profile talent never to lace his boots up for WWE? Only time will tell at this point.
What do you want to see happen? Do you want Sting in a WWE ring? Should he remain in TNA to help that company survive? Sound off in the comments below!
