There is big news to share about the starved Cane Corso named "Queenie."
According to Grady Animal Hospital, the dog who was starved to the very brink of death, has recovered enough that she is expected to go home on Tuesday.
The veterinary hospital shared the amazing news with their Facebook followers on Monday
Guess who's most likely going to go to their new home tomorrow?! Yup, that's right - our Queenie!
She is SO ready and excited that I could barely get a photo, let alone a video of her today! Ha!
Queenie just bounced and bounced, then looked up at me with this expression on her face, as if to say, "Enough with the camera - come play!"
According to a press release from the Guardians of Rescue, the organization which helped facilitate Queenie's rescue, she will be released and going to her new home with a rescuer from Guardians of Rescue.
Queenie's alleged abuser, Michael Faulkner of Coram, N.Y., has been charged with animal cruelty.
Faulkner is believed to have intentionally locked the dog in a room of his house and deprived her of food and water in a spiteful act of revenge against his ex-wife.
Since the time that Queenie was discovered and rescued, she has gained an impressive 23 pounds and she is now able to eat, play and go on walks - truly, a miraculous recovery.
