The sad, pleading eyes on a two-year-old mastiff mix who was scheduled for death on Monday, captured the attention of thousands of people.
The dog, now known as "Jimmy," is safe - rescued from the Mobile County Animal Shelter by the SouthBARK animal rescue in Alabama.
Those people who pledged funds to help save Jimmy's life, are asked to honor those pledges at this YouCaring fundraising site.
The rescue agency stated:
SouthBARK is saving Jimmy! This sweet boy is getting the second chance that he deserves! Jimmy was dumped by his "family" but he will never again know abandonment or sadness.
Thanks to everyone who took a moment to fight for this dog's life.
