Not every dog who is surrendered to an animal control agency has a happy "tail" to share...especially the seniors. Thankfully, for a 15-year-old dog named "Chelo," there is.
Chelo, a Pomeranian, lost his home, as pathetic as it seemed to be, when his owner decided that the dog was "too old," and admitted on the surrender form that a new dog had been obtained in Chelo's stead.
Thanks to Muttville Senior Dog Rescue in San Francisco, Calif., Chelo was rescued from the animal control facility and today, he has a new guardian.
On Friday, the rescue agency stated:
It's never too late for a new beginning!
We are very happy to announce that Chelo has been ADOPTED! Woo hoo! Thank you to everyone who shared his story, especially Susie's Senior Dogs! Wow, what a response!
Please remember, his story is not a unique one. There are many other dogs at Muttville and at your local shelter with the same story.
Chelo can happily bid adieu to his former, heartless owner - the one who admitted to keeping him outside 24 hours a day, to sleep under a porch.
Enjoy your new life Chelo - it has been a long time coming.
