Update: missing Indiana teens return home thanks to social media

The parents of two teenagers missing from northwest Indiana for six days confirmed Tuesday evening that both had returned home safe, thanks to the efforts of thousands who shared their story -- and photos -- via social media.

Seventeen-year-old Cammie Weaver and 16-year-old Tristen Wiesner disappeared on Thursday, March 14, 2013, after missing classes at their high school in Mishawaka. On Monday, The Examiner spoke with the families of both missing teens, leading to an online campaign which sparked thousands of shares of their photos and details of their disappearance. That pressure led to the safe return of both teens Tuesday afternoon.

The Weaver and Wiesner families would like to extend their gratitude to all who assisted in the effort to find Cammie and Tristen.
