A 29-year-old man has been charged in a double shooting that left one man dead and another injured at an apartment complex, police said Sunday.

Mr. Mario Demonte Talley, of Fairburn, was charged with felony murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and criminal attempt to commit armed robbery, according to Atlanta police. He was booked into the Fulton County jail Sunday, according to jail records.

The shooting happened shortly after 11 p.m. on March 9 at Daron Village Apartments at 62 Harwell Road, police spokesman Sgt. Greg Lyon has previously reported.

When officers arrived they found one of the victims outside of building B. He told police he had been robbed and shot.

Officers were clearing the call when they were told of another victim, Sgt. Lyon said. Mr. Rodney Walker, 21, of Atlanta, was found unresponsive in the rear of building D. He had been shot several times.

Witnesses told police there was an exchange of gunfire in the breezeway of one of the buildings, according to media reports.

On Friday, investigators developed probable cause to arrest Mr. Talley for the shootings, police spokeswoman Officer Kim Jones said. He was arrested without incident and later transported to the Fulton County jail, she said.
