A 21-year-old man is wanted in connection with a deadly shooting that happened Thursday on a student housing complex in Sandy Springs. And police have identified the victim who was killed as 23-year-old Takeenen Williams, of Marsh Trail Circle.
Investigators have obtained a murder warrant for Patricko Mondrez Davis, according to Sandy Springs police. He is a student at the Atlanta Institute of Art but not listed as a resident of the Hub, police said. Investigators said the two had a dispute prior to the shooting. But it's unclear what the dispute was about.
The shooting happened around 4 p.m. at the Hub, extended-stay apartments for students – many of whom attend the Art Institute of Atlanta and American Intercontinental University, police spokesman Capt. Steve Rose said.
Officers responded to the location after getting a call about a person shot, Rose said. It was unclear if the caller was someone from the hotel or the Hub. When officers arrived they found the victim in the back of the hotel, the spokesman said.
Investigators said the man was shot multiple times in the Hub’s parking lot before he climbed over a fence and collapsed in the back parking lot of the hotel at 800 Hammond Drive. It’s unclear where on the body the man was struck, if he was shot at close range and what type of weapon was used.
Williams died later at Grady Memorial Hospital, police said.
Witnesses saw someone running from the scene, but it’s unclear if the person was Davis. That person jumped the fence to get away and now police are searching for the man to question him.
