Update – Kazakhstan pentagram mystery solved (?)

Some may recall that circa August of 2013 AD the internet was abuzz with speculations about what the Kazakhstani pentagram (five pointed star) might be. In short, a bird’s eye view of a region of Kazakhstan showed a large…and here is where we must stop to offer a correction as it was not a pentagram but a pentacle which is a pentagram (upside down in this case) within a circle which you can view at this link (location is 52.479781, 62.185723 / +52° 28' 47.21", +62° 11' 8.60).

As noted at the time in our article Occultopia: the Kazakhstani pentagram (contra Marc Lallanilla) very many “news” outlets simply regurgitated Marc Lallanilla’s article which concluded, via reference to Emma Usmanova “an archaeologist with years of experience working in the Lisakovsk area” that, “It is the outline of a park made in the form of a star” which, as we noted, “Wow! That is tantamount to stating that the Giza pyramids are pyramidal in shape because they are pyramids made in the shape of pyramids.”

Well, as can be seen in the slideshow attached to this article; that are some surface-to air missile (SAM) sites that were laid out in the shape of pentacles and also hexagrams (six pointed star) within a circle—hexacles, perhaps?

Apparently, the star pattern, often with the control center in the middle, provided the ability to shoot at 360 degrees. Also, in this way, if a bomb took out one or two individual SAMs then the others would be left and the site would not be a total loss—at least until cluster bombs came to be.

Moreover, the actual outlined star pattern (the actual lines forming the patterns) were roadways/walkways between the individual silos.

This is certainly all well and good but it is tempting to ask whether there is a deeper, more occult, reason for choosing five and/or six pointed stars. Certainly, both pentagrams/pentacles and hexagrams/hexacles have a long history of usage in mainstream and occult religious groups.

There certainly is a very long history of militaries employing sigils, symbols, geometric shapes, etc. of all sorts in order to petition the gods…or the other fellows, as it were. For example, the right side up pentagram has many meanings but a main, occult, one is human sovereignty with humans representing the microcosm which mirror the universe which is the macrocosm. Gives a whole new meaning to star wars—actually, it restores the old meaning.

Thus, perhaps the planners behind the grunts on the field employed such shapes as amulets, of sorts, for protection, for calling up spirits for help in the battle, etc.

There may be more than meets the eye; what that is, is anybody’s guess.
