While the funeral for Michael Jackson is just hours away, reports are that the late pop star's Rolls Royce was seen being transported from his Las Vegas home.
Jackson will be interred in the Great Mausoleum at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, California this evening. Glendale mayor Frank Quintero told Examiner that approximately $120,000.00 was spent by the city for security for Jackson's funeral.
The mayor arrived at the cemetery in the morning. When asked at the cemetery by Examiner.com about the helicopters flying overhead, he said, "One of the helicopters was an L.A.P.D. That one looks like a fire one that may be off to Lakeview Terrace or somewhere."
Both the mayor and police officials declined to say how many officers were involved in security for the funeral. Mayor Quintero also told Examiner.com that he had not been in contact with the Jackson family, and that he had been communicating with Forest Lawn.
"It should be a smooth service," he commented. The mayor told Examiner.com that he did not know how long the service will last.
Mayor Quintero told Examiner.com that he will not be staying for the funeral.
Glendale police have declined to tell Examiner.com and the rest of the credentialed media present at the heavily guarded cemetery what time the funeral will end.
