Update:
Jared Egnew and his daughter, Madison walked out of the woods on Sunday, after being lost for two days, and flagged down a car to help them.
"Obviously they're scratched up from plowing through the woods, and they're cold and wet and hungry, other than that, everything seems to be just fine. They didn't want medics or anything," said Clallam County Chief Criminal Deputy Ron Cameron.
Authorities are searching for a man and his daughter when they didn't return to the campground they were camping at.
Jared Egnew, 21, Kayla McComb and Madison Egnew, 22 months, went camping at the Lyre River campground west of Port Angeles on Friday.
Around 11:00 a.m., that day, Jared Egnew, 21 took Madison for a drive, when they couldn't calm her down. Around 3:00 p.m., when they didn't return, McComb, left the campsite and went to her grandparents house to try and locate them.
The Clallam County Sheriff's Department was called around 8:00 p.m. on Friday when McComb could not find them.
Police began searching for them and located the car, a 1999 Ford Taurus, Saturday morning. It was stuck on a remote logging road, several miles away from the campground. It has two spare tires on the rear and no one was in the car.
Search dogs picked up a trail that led away from the car to Highway 112, which is 3 miles away, and then the track goes cold.
Investigators have decided to discontinue searching the area on Sunday and were following up on leads.
McComb and Egnew and their daughter had been living with relatives over the past few weeks and went camping to get away for a few days.
Egnew is described as white, 6' tall and 244 pounds. He has dark brown hair, closely shaved and a goatee. He was wearing an AC/DC gray long-sleeve shirt and blue jeans. He wears contact and is ADHD and was reported to have glaucoma.
The little girl is 33 inches tall, 2 pounds, with dark blond shoulder-length hair that is worn in a ponytail. Her eyes are green or hazel and her ears are pierced. She was wearing a red long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans, brown boots and red socks.
If you have seen them or have any information you are requested to call 911.
