January is a good time to clean out your closets. The temperatures are dipping and staying at home looks better and better. Stave off cabin fever by taking some time to go through your clothing and decide what stays, what gets donated and what gets upcycled. Old t-shirts make excellent "yarn" for rug projects. The fabric is durable and easy to work with and most likely right at hand in your own home. There are several techniques including knitting, crocheting, braiding, hooking and even a cool version to take you back to your friendship bracelet making days.
