Upcoming sewing and fabric sales this March

Bay Area seamstresses and fabric artists can take advantage of two great sales that will be held the third week of March, 2014.

The San Francisco Opera will be holding a one-of-a-kind sale on March 22 and 23, 2014. The Opera's Costume Shop will be selling costumes from their shows, as well as an array of fabrics including vintage textiles of all kinds. The Costume Shop Sale will be held Saturday, March 22 from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (no admittance after 4:30 p.m.) and Sunday, March 23 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (no admittance after 3:30 p.m.) at the San Francisco Opera Scene Shop, located at 800 Indiana Street (between 20th and 22nd Streets) in San Francisco. Prices range from $1 to $750. Cash and credit card only accepted; no checks. All sales are final and benefit San Francisco Opera. For more information, visit

In the South Bay, the Lace Museum and Guild located in Sunnyvale will be holding their Semi-Annual Vintage Sale on Friday, March 21, and Saturday, March 22. Sale hours are 9:30 am to 4 pm. Vintage and handmade items ranging from table linens, pillow cases, laces and fabrics, as well as lace-making supplies will be on sale during the event.
