Wizard World St. Louis Comic Con
The eagerly anticipated Wizard World St. Louis Comic Con will start on April 4th and run through April 6th at the America’s Center. The con will feature panels for popular comic books and other areas of pop culture as well as a number of celebrity and author meet and greets. Celebrity appearances include Emily Kinney of The Walking Dead, Nathan Fillion and Summer Glau of Firefly and Castle, and Matt Smith and Karen Gillan of Doctor Who. Ticket prices start at $25 and are on sale now.

Maplewood Coffee Crawl, Storytime and Booksignings- Saturday, April 5
The recently relocated Bookhouse of St. Louis will hold the Maplewood Coffee Crawl on April 5, 2014. The event starts at 8am and runs through 1pm and will feature a book signing with local author Rachel Wisdom, a storytime event with a number of local children’s authors, and the opportunity to sample coffee from all over the world.

World Book Night- Wednesday, April 23
World Book Night is the international effort to introduce books to non-readers by giving away free copies of books to people who do not regularly read. Held on April 23, many local bookstores and libraries all over the world participate in the event. This year, many of St. Louis’ local bookstores, including The Bookhouse of St. Louis and Left Bank Books, will honor the event by serving as distribution centers.
