In other news

Canada recently took another step towards eliminating human trafficking within its borders, with the coming into force of a new component of the Safe Streets and Communities Act (Bill C-10).

This component (“protecting children from sexual predators") amends the Criminal Code to add several new offences, including mandatory prison sentences for people accused of “grooming,” a practice consisting in providing sexually explicit material to a child to manipulate them into the sex trade.
