It's another busy week for Chattanooga area families! With so many fun and exciting events to celebrate Mom, help others in the community and more, it's hard to choose! This week looks to have gorgeous weather so make sure to grab the kids and get out there and enjoy!
Monday, May 3rd - Michael's Craft Store will having a "Make It Take It Mother's Day Corsage" Event. Children will have the opportunity to make a Mother's Day corsage for Mom! There is a small fee for supplies. This is being held at all Michael's stores from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. For more information on this event, click here.
Tuesday, May 4th - Michael's Craft Store will be having a FREE "Make It Take It Mother's Day Clay Pot Event". Children can paint a clay pot for mom for FREE! This event is being held from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. For more information on this event, click here.
Wednesday, May 5th - From 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Michael's Craft Store will be having a "Make It and Take It Mother's Day T-shirt event". This event does require the cost of the t-shirt. For more information on this event, click here.
Thursday, May 6th - It's Kiddie Day at Lake Winnie from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. FREE gate admission for children age 11 or younger. Gate admission is $5 for those ages 12 and up. For more information, click here.
Thursday, May 6th - The Chattanooga Market will be open from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Miller Plaza. This week's theme is "Mom Takes the Cake". For more information on this event, click here.
Thursday, May 6th - Michael's is hosting a "Make It Take it Mother's Day Frame" event from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. You purchase the frame; Michael's supplies the inspiration and the paints! Great idea for a fun Mother's Day gift! For more information on this event, click here.
Saturday, May 8th - If you'd like to teach your kids a little something about helping others, why not take part in National Stamp Out Hunger Day? On Saturday, May 8th, mail carriers will be picking up donations and delivering them to food banks and organizations in communities across the country. If you would like to participate in this event, simply pack a sturdy bag with non-perishable food items and place it next to your mailbox on May 8th. That's all there is to it. Saturday, May 8th - Michael's is hosting another Mother's Day event. This one is where you can make a FREE card for Mom. All supplies will be provided. This event is from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. For more information on this event, click here.
Saturday, May 8th - Lowe's Home Improvement Store is hosting a Build and Grow Clinic at 10 a.m. Children will be able to build their own Mother's Day planter. For more information on this event or to sign up, click here.
Sunday, May 9th - Make sure to grab your totes and head to the Chattanooga Market! Visit the First Tennessee Pavilion between 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. and stock up on with lots of fresh grown goodies! For more information, click here.
Ongoing until May 18th - Tickets are on sale for the Riverdance Farewell Tour. Riverdance will be performing May 18th - 20th at Memorial Auditorium. If you have enjoyed the fun of Irish music, songs and dancing in the past, than this is the event for you. Tickets are $36.50 to $76.50. Ongoing until May 27, 2010 - Wild Ocean 3D is showing at the Tennessee Aquarium IMAX 3D Theater through May 27, 2010. Wild Ocean 3D takes the views to the waters off Wild Coast in South Africa and introduces them to sharks, dolphins, seals, penguins and more! Show times are at noon, 1pm, 3pm, 4pm and 6pm. Fridays and Saturdays have an additional showing at 7pm. The IMAX Theater is located at One Broad Street, Chattanooga TN 37402. Ongoing until May 27th - Hubble 3D is showing at the Tennessee Aquarium IMAX 3D Theater through May 27th, 2010. Hubble 3D, showing on a six-story screen, will take the viewer into outer space to explore the mysteries that surround us. Narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio, this film allows a unique chance for movie-goers to understand the legacy of the Hubble Space Telescope and understand how Hubble as impacted the way that we view the universe.
