Upcoming events in the Chattanooga area for the week of April 26

It's another busy week for Chattanooga area families! Lots of fun and exciting events going on so make sure to get out there and enjoy!

Monday, April 26th and Tuesday, April 27th - The Chattanooga Boys Choir is holding Open House Auditions. No experience or previous involvement in a choir is required to audition. The CBC teaches everything from the correct posture and breathing for singing, how to read music and more. For more information on auditions, call 423/634/2299 or click here.

Tuesday, April 27th - Each Tuesday in April, the Cleveland, TN Chick-Fil-A is offering FREE kids meals during their Family Night. From 5 p.m. - 8 p.m., bring your kids in each week for a free meal and a fun activity such as movies, clowns, face painting, crafts and more. There is a limit of two free kids' meals per adult meal purchase.

Wednesday, April 28th - It's 31 Cent Scoop Night at Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream! You can get an ice cream scoop for just 31 cents. You can also take this opportunity to join with Baskin-Robbins in supporting the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation by making a donation. For more information on this event, click here. Thursday, April 29th - It's Kiddie Day at Lake Winnepesaukah from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. FREE gate admission for all children age 11 and younger. For anyone over the age of 12, gate admission is just $5! Unlimited rides for only $18/person. For more information, click here

Friday, April 30th - It's the 10th annual Bunny Hop to benefit the Children's Home/Chambliss Shelter of Chattanooga. This event is held at the First Tennessee Pavilion from 6 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. This event offers dinner and desserts for the entire family, storytellers, live bunnies, arts and crafts, live music, a silent auction and lots more! Friday, April 30th at 3 p.m. - Saturday, May 1st at 3 p.m. - It's the 3rd annual Chattanooga BioBlitz at the Chattanooga Nature Center. A combination festival and educational event, the BioBlitz brings together experts to see how many species can be counted during a biological survey of CNC and RR property. Families can observe the scientists counting; take a guided bird and butterfly walk and more. For more information on this event, click here.

Saturday, May 1st - Join the United Way at the Creative Discovery Museum from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for an Ages and Stages Screening. Families with children age 5 and under who complete the questionnaire will receive a FREE family pass to the museum! Ages and Stages is an easy way to learn about your child's development. Saturday, May 1st - If you have a child who is a fan of graphic novels or comic books, then make sure to make your way to the Chattanooga Library Downtown and visit the auditorium between 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. You will have the opportunity to meet cartoonist Duck Edwing, see a superhero movie (rated PG 13), draw comics, visit the swap table and more! There are even free comics available while they last!

Saturday, May 1st - Lowe's Home Improvement Store is hosting a Build and Grow Clinic at 10 a.m. Children will be able to build their own school. For more information on this event or to sign up, click here.

Sunday, May 2nd - It's Home and Garden Day at the Chattanooga Market. Visit the First Tennessee Pavilion between 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. and make sure to bring your totes to fill up with lots of fresh grown goodies! For more information, click here.

Sunday, May 2nd - Michael's Craft Store will having a "Make It Take It Mother's Day Mug" Event. Children will have the opportunity to make a Mother's Day mug for Mom! There is a small fee for supplies. This is being held at all Michael's stores from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. For more information on this event, click here.

Ongoing until May 18th - Tickets are on sale for the Riverdance Farewell Tour. Riverdance will be performing May 18th - 20th at Memorial Auditorium. If you have enjoyed the fun of Irish music, songs and dancing in the past, than this is the event for you. Tickets are $36.50 to $76.50. Ongoing until May 27, 2010 - Wild Ocean 3D is showing at the Tennessee Aquarium IMAX 3D Theater through May 27, 2010. Wild Ocean 3D takes the views to the waters off Wild Coast in South Africa and introduces them to sharks, dolphins, seals, penguins and more! Show times are at noon, 1pm, 3pm, 4pm and 6pm. Fridays and Saturdays have an additional showing at 7pm. The IMAX Theater is located at One Broad Street, Chattanooga TN 37402. Tickets are $8.50/adults and $6.00 for children between the ages of 3 and 12. For additional information, click here.

Ongoing until May 27th - Hubble 3D is showing at the Tennessee Aquarium IMAX 3D Theater through May 27th, 2010. Hubble 3D, showing on a six-story screen, will take the viewer into outer space to explore the mysteries that surround us. Narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio, this film allows a unique chance for movie-goers to understand the legacy of the Hubble Space Telescope and understand how Hubble as impacted the way that we view the universe. Showtimes are a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m. & 5 p.m. with additional 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. showtimes on Fridays and Saturdays. For additional information on this opportunity, click here.
