Upcoming events for humanists and freethinkers, January and February 2012

Welcome to 2012. There are a lot of things coming up that Humanists and Freethinkers should know about. 

The Center for Inquiry has three events they want you to know about.

CFI is also sponsoring a new UU Humanists group at the UU of Clearwater. Their first meeting will be Sunday Jan 15th at 12:30 pm. Details at: http://www.centerforinquiry.net/tampa/events/uuc_clearwater_forms_new_humanist_group/

Most interesting will be the UU Humanists versus Baptist debate which will take place on Jan 17th at 7 p.m. at UU Clearwater’s campus.  Address is 2470 Nursery Rd., Clearwater.  The topic for discussion is, "Do reason and evidence support Christian claims?"

The Humanist Families of Greater Tampa will be hosting a picnic at the Manatee Viewing Center in Apollo Beach starting at 10 am on Sunday Jan 8th – meet inside the museum area (upper floor) – details: http://www.facebook.com/events/188878537875012/

The Humanists of Sarasota Bay have several activities planned including weekly luncheons, book club, current affairs discussion group and more. Their next lecture is on Monday Feb 6th and is about what is happening in Afghanistan. Details at: http://sarasota.humanists.net/calendar.html
