There are some special events at Sacred Waters coming up in the next week or so. Come on out and check them out!
On Tuesday, February 27th at 7pm, Kirby Whitacre will continue leading a seminar on the Principles of Buddhism. The study involves Sogyal Rinpoche’s famous work, ‘Tibetan Wisdom of Living and Dying.’ This work has been highly regarded as one of the most comprehensive presentations of Tibetan Buddhism. This book is a manual for understanding life and death in the Tibetan tradition and has been a source of sacred inspiration for many Tibetan Buddhists over the years. This book provides a wonderful introduction to practicing meditation, understanding the mind, understanding the principles of karma and rebirth, learning how to care compassionately for the dying, and learning the hardships and rewards of the spiritual path. Kirby will be helping us to understand Tibetan Buddhism through the material in this famous work. Kirby has been a practicing Buddhist for many years and has written a book entitled ‘Buddhism: a Westerner’s Compendium’.
On Wednesday, February 29th at 7pm, Karen Martin will allow us to experience the Ica Stones. These Stones are sacred and contain pictographs of things our society has not experienced yet. Ica is a town in Peru, South America where Dr. Caberra (anthropologist and MD) collected 5,000 of the 11,000 Stones. The Stones were on display in his museum until it was badly damaged in an earthquake that destroyed the town of Ica a few years ago. These Stones are the survivors and are eager to tell the stories that lie within them. Karen will tell the story of how these Stones came to her and chose her as their guardian, as well as provide a brief history of their time in Peru. There will be approximately 35 Stones present and all are encouraged to meet them and experience them. These Ica Stones have been known to be a great source of healing. There is no set cost for the class, but if you can give a Free Will Offering , any amount would be appreciated. Come and see these amazing Stones and experience what they have to teach you!
On Thursday, March 1st at 7pm, Virginia Olson will lead a class on the Introduction to Kundalini Yoga. Kundalini Yoga is the “yoga of awareness” as taught by Yogi Bhajan. This tradition of Yoga focuses on the energy systems in the body (the chakras and the aura) and helps to strengthen the nervous system and glandular functions.
