Fall is here which means more fun with Fido in New York City. Here are a few events to help your pup frolic into fall.
Wendy Diamond and Animal Fair Magazine will host a Bark Breakfast Benefit as part of their book launch tour at Omni Berkshire on Monday, September 30 at 8:00 a.m. The event will support veterans suffering with K9’s for Warriors, a program that matches therapy dogs with veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Attire is red, white and blue, and dogs are welcome to attend. Guests will receive a copy of Wendy Diamond’s new book, “How to Train your Boss to Rollover”. For tickets and more information, see Bark Breakfast Benefit Book Tour.
The annual My Dog Loves Central Park Fair will take place this year on Saturday, October 6 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Nuremburg Bandshell. This event is a great way for you and your pup to celebrate Central Park’s dog community and the arrival of fall in Manhattan. Activities will include Best in Park Dog contests, training tips, microchipping, games, an agility course, a Children’s Corner and an array of vendors of leading dog products in NYC. For more information, see My Dog Loves Central Park.
For those wanting an escape from Manhattan, Knoebels Amusement Resort will once again be having Hallo-Fun Nights, beginning October 11. This old fashioned family-owned theme park has won numerous awards for best amusement park food and for its Phoenix roller coaster. Even more importantly, they allow pups in the park. Dogs are even allowed on the train, carousel and buggies, but please keep Fido out of the high thrill zone.
Stay tuned for upcoming Halloween dog events in New York City.
