It’s once again time to check out the coming attractions in the popular series Cinema Overdrive, Cool Classics, and James Bond Originals at the Colony Theater.
Tonight, Cinema Overdrive is presenting Stanley H. Brassloff's “Toys Are Not For Children” (1972). CO series co-curator Matt Pennachi calls the film their “Valentine's Day gift to the good people of the Triangle” on the film’s Facebook Event page, and that it’s their “annual 'just trust us on this one!'" selection for its “complete ‘WTF?!?!?!’ factor!” Watch a trailer for the film here.
The next movie in the series will be George A. Romeo's “The Crazies” on March 14th.
Cinema Overdrive features all begin at 8:00 PM, and tickets are $5.50.
The next Cool Classic will be George Roy Hill's 1977 ice hockey comedy drama "Slap Shot", starring Paul Newman, next Wednesday, February 15th, at 7:30 PM.
After that, will be Sam Raimi’s “Army of Darkness”, the third in the “Evil Dead” series, on Wednesday, March 21st.
On Wednesday, April 18th, Jim Henson and Frank Oz’s 1982 fantasy classic “The Dark Crystal” returns by popular request to the Colony.
Like with Cinema Overdrive, the screenings will be augmented by vintage trailers, and tickets are $5.50.
The Colony's third and final series “James Bond Originals” is continuing its chronological run through the iconic canon on the last Thursday of every month at 7:30 PM, also for $5.50 a ticket.
The next one up is Pierce Brosnan’s 3rd outing as 007 in “The World Is Not Enough” (1999) on February 23rd.
Check the Colony's website for details.
