Cat Fanciers Association cat shows make an appearance in metro Detroit for the first time this year in April and May. On Sat., April 12, 2014, the Just Cat-In Around Cat Fanciers and the Fort Wayne Cat Fanciers clubs host their CFA All-Breed cat show at the Melvindale Ice Arena. Breeds represented will include Persians, Maine Coons, Siamese, Exotics, Devon Rexes, Russian Blues, Ragdolls, and many more. In addition to championship animals, there will be special judging in the household pets area. The show opens at 9 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m. Cost is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, and $4 for children over age 6. Children under age 6 will be admitted free of charge.

On May 10, 2014, the Anthony Wayne Cat Fanciers will host their 39th annual CFA show at the University of Michigan Campus Sports Coliseum. Pet photographer Justine St. Arnaud will be in attendance, and 225 cats are expected to attend. Doors open at 9 a.m. and close at 5 p.m.
