It's that time of year; Call of Duty hype! The now predictable promotion cycle of Activision's juggernaut first person shooter series has once again started up the marketing cycle of the series yearly installation.

This year, Activison has thrown a wrench into the mix by offering Sledgehammer Games a chance to create a stand alone title, now dividing up development studios into three; Sledgehammer Games, Infinity Ward and Treyarch.

Previously being a part of "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3" development, Sledgehammer Games has gone on record discussing the ambition and importance their upcoming unnamed Call of Duty title has.

This title is the "most ambitious, most creative game we've ever made," when discussing the gravity of developing on of Activision's most sought after franchises.

Bold words from an unproven developer of the series within a franchise who's popularity has waned significantly in light of certain EA published shooter titles.
