Up in smoke: Will President Obama finally deliver on cannabis campaign promises?

See also

The title itself is a high, high, high, high blue dream.

However, I still have a teeny, teeny, teeny, tiny bit of faith in our president.

I grew up with a belief and understanding that we should back our president regardless of how we personally feel about that individual.

But President Barack Obama has done nothing short of lie about his 2008 campaign promises, especially when it comes to cannabis.

Will that change in this lame-duck presidency?

Only time will tell.

I do think there's a slim possibility that could happen, but who knows.

This president has left the cannabis community high and dry before, and this definitely won't be the last time either if Obama once again decides to turn his back on those who elected him into office.

Politics is an evil, dirty, sick, and twisted world of half-baked lies and underlying tones, setting the stage for nothing more than real life, made-for-TV, drama -- live from Washington, D.C.

But this goes beyond politics, Mr. President.

This is about a promise you made, and being held to your word.

It's about doing what you said you would do when you became our President.

You ran on "changes," President Obama.

Now, it's time to take a stand and make the biggest change this country has seen in ages by backing what the citizens of Washington and Colorado have already passed: legalized cannabis.

It's time to begin growing hemp and hemp-based products here in America, Mr. President.

It is time to relegalize this plant that has been around since the beginning of time.

That lone change could very well save this country.

It is time, President Obama.

It is time.
