It may only be October 16, but my keen eye has already spotted two Christmas trees greeting customers at unnamed department stores in the Metro Atlanta area.
So with Halloween right around the corner, and Thanksgiving soon to follow, UP (@UPtv) which is on various cable systems around the country, along with DISH Network on channel 188, DIRECTV on channel 338 and Verizon FIOS on channel 224, will be going all Christmas beginning November 18. That means 40 days of holiday movies and programming.
The all Christmas programming will run through December 31.
"We have firmly established ourselves as America's Christmas Channel with 40+ days and 400 plus hours of entertaining and uplifting Christmas programming," states Leslie Glenn Chesloff, UP's EVP, programming. "America's families love it, as evidenced by the 55% ratings growth that we saw last year and the double digit growth we anticipate this holiday season. This year, our Christmas programming shines brightly with eight UP Original and Premiere movies and two Christmas specials and more. We clearly are the network destination for holiday and Christmas programming."
To get you in the holiday mood, UP will show the popular, family-favorite "My Big Fat Waltons Thanksgiving" marathon followed by the much anticpated presentation of the classic family film that started it all – "The Homecoming: A Christmas Story."
Of course, UP will play Christmas music and premiere a new movie "Angel in the House" on November 24.
Other programming you will see:
K-Love's Music City Christmas
"Guess Who's Coming to Christmas"
"Marry Me for Christmas"
"Christmas for a Dollar"
And don't forget about the famous "Yule Log" you have up on your HD TV to make the perfect backdrop for your holiday party. The Yule Log will run on December 24 at 8:00 p.m. eastern for 24 hours.
Make sure you check out UP this holiday season and get in the holiday spirit.
