USA Book News released the winners of The National Best Books 2009 Awards (NBBA) on October 20, 2009. Up at the Villa: Travels with My Husband by Richmond, VA author Linda Dini Jenkins was awarded Finalist in the Travel: Essays category.

If you have not already read Up at the Villa, it’s a great combination of travel log, humor, and stories of friend and family relations, rolled up in a single book. Linda provides entertaining stories of traveling to Italy and surrounding area with her husband, Tim, and a group of traveling companions. She beautifully describes the picturesque Italian villas tucked far away from the tourists areas, and also “keeps it real” with stories of conflicting personalities and tales of humorous circumstances that occurred while traveling abroad. Poems and great recipes are thrown in for additional flavor.

USABookNews.com is the premiere online magazine and review website for mainstream and independent publishing houses. Over 500 winners and finalists were announced in over 140 categories covering print and audio books. Jeff Keen, President and CEO of USABookNews.com, said this year’s contest yielded an unprecedented number of entries.
