Up-and-coming rapper: Isaiah Rashad

Isaiah Rashad is the newest member of Top Dawg Entertainment. He has a lot of hype behind him just because he signed with arguably the best label out. He has to live up to the legacy of all his labelmates such as Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q and Ab-Soul.

Rashad has done just that with his first ep, Cilvia Demo. The EP showcased Rashad's lyricism and he did it without much features.

Rashad's single “Banana” showcases his ability to rap at his best. He can spit with the best of TDE and he is also making a lane for himself. He didn't have heavy features to draw fans. He wanted to prove he doesn't need big features to draw an audience and he proved just that. However, if he did get bug features, he could have expanded his fan base a lot.

Cilvia Demo received high praise from hip hop blogs. Rashad's first project has garnered him attention and reputation of an upcoming star. He has the platform to do just that.

Top Dawg Entertainment put Kendrick out to the public eye and has supported him the whole way. His critically-acclaimed “Good Kid M.A.A.D City” might not have won the Grammy for best rap album but he has the whole rap community thinks he deserved to win.

Schoolboy Q is also being backed by the label. He has an album coming out on February 24. Top Dawg Entertainment fully backs their artists and with their help, Isaiah Rashad can break into mainstream radio. And if he is struggling, a verse from his label mates will change all that.

Look out for this kid from Chattanooga, Tennessee, in the near future. He is gifted with the pen and with due time, he will rise to stardom.
